Disc Type Devices include disc-type diodes and thyristors (SCR) designed for high-power and high-current industrial applications. Featuring a press-pack (flat disc) structure, these devices are clamped between heat sinks, enabling excellent thermal performance, uniform current distribution, and high mechanical reliability.

Disc type diodes and SCRs are widely used in high-power rectifiers, soft starters, HVDC systems, power transmission equipment, large motor drives, and industrial furnaces, where high surge current capability and long-term stability are critical.

These devices are available with very high current ratings (typically from several hundred amps to several kiloamps) and high voltage ratings (up to several kilovolts).
