How It Works

A soft starter uses SCR phase control to gradually ramp up motor voltage during startup, limiting inrush current to 2–4 times rated current compared to 6–8 times with direct-on-line starting. Once the motor reaches full speed, it switches to full voltage operation — reducing electrical stress and extending the service life of motors, pumps, and connected equipment.

The 15KW / 30A rating suits light to medium industrial loads where smooth starting is the priority. Unlike a VFD, this soft starter only controls the start and stop process — the motor runs at full voltage during normal operation. It is the right choice when variable speed control is not required but reduced inrush current and mechanical stress are essential.
